Constitution Day is an annual event designed to honor the document that has bound our nation together for over 200 years--the United States Constitution.
Dade Middle School participated in this year's world-wide reading of the Preamble on Monday, September 18, 2006, lead by former Secretary of State, Colin Powell.
All citizens were asked to set aside five minutes at 2:00 PM Eastern time and watch as Secretary Powell explained Constitution Day and lead the recitation of the Preamble.
Shown above is Mr. Marshall Neely's sixth grade class participating in the reading. Shown to the left are WDMS announcers Taylor Forester and Jameson Wooten. They lead the morning news program on Constitution Day dressed as the Statue of Liberty and Uncle Sam.
