Blake West Earns 3rd Place at State Wrestling Tournament
Three Dade County Wrestlers qualified for the Georgia High School Wrestling Tournament on February 21-22. Participating in the event were Stephen Avery, Wade Bearden, and Blake West with West placing an overall 3rd in the 103 weight class.
Coach John Weiss (pictured above with Blake) offered the following coverage of the event:

"Blake suffered a 1st round loss by the score of 4-3. He fought all the way back to place 3rd. He avenged his loss with a win in overtime. He fought hard and it paid off. We are so proud of him."
"Stephen Avery had two hard fought matches but came up short in both. Wade Bearden went 2-2 and came within one match of placing."
"We are excited how this season turned out. We are even more excited about this off season and all the improvement we can make for the future. The sky is the limit for this program and I hope we can get more young men involved not only in the program but in this great sport."
