FBLA Competitive Events

FBLA-PBL's National Awards Program recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. Through state-based competition at the spring State Leadership Conferences, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills. Top state winners are then eligible to compete for national awards at the National Leadership Conference each summer.

Two Dade County High School students have developed web sites for participation in this year's competition. Katie Scott created an E-Business web site while Hannah Turnmire has posted an entry in the Web Site Development category.

Below are descriptions of the competitions along with links to the DCHS entries:

Fullmoon Bakery - E-Business Competitive Events Entry by Katie Scott   E-Business - Your FBLA chapter is preparing a major fund-raising activity to support community service projects as well as leadership activities. Create an e-business site to promote and sell your products. Minimally, the site should include elemets such as marketing concepts, site theme, navigational scheme, graphics/multimedia use, shopping cart, and secure pay.

Chattem Theatre - Web Site Development Competitive Events Entry by Hannah Turnmire   Web Site Development - Your local community playhouse has approached your FBLA chapter to develop a Web site to promote its upcoming production. You should include a brieft synopsis of the play, description of the cast, general details (e.g., schedule, ticket sales, directions), and information on becoming a patron/donor of your playhouse. You may substitute the drama productions at your school for the community playhouse.
