Boys' Quartet Takes 3rd Place in State Literary Competition


After taking first place at the Region Literary Events in Rome, the DCHS Boys' Quartet (Cole Adkins, Ryan Dobbs, Carter McCormick, and Nathan Reeves) traveled to Warner Robbins, Georgia on Saturday, March 17th, where they placed 3rd in the state level competition.

Previously on Friday, March 9th, the Dade County Literary Team traveled to Rome to participate in the Region Literary Events. Overall, Dade County won second place in Region 7AA, with Calhoun taking first.

Every student that competed in the event placed in their category.

First Place:

  • Boys' Quartet - Cole Adkins, Ryan Dobbs, Carter McCormick, and Nathan Reeves

Second Place:

  • Boys' Solo - Ryan Dobbs
  • Girls' Essay - Sarah Powell
  • Boys' Dramatic Interpretation - Nick Bowden

Third Place:

  • Boys' Extemporaneous Speaking - James Stone

Fourth Place:

  • Girls' Trio - Christine Core, Amanda McCoy, and Kelsey Tinker
  • Girls' Solo - Christine Core
  • Boys' Essay - Aaron Ivey
  • Girls' Extemporaneous Speaking - Brittany New
