My name is Alicia Bell and I am blessed to teach Algebra I and Financial Algebra at Dade County High School! I have an open door policy so please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns anytime. It’s great to be a member of the DCHS team!
Personal
I am married to Brett Bell (28 years) and we have two daughters, Courtney (23) and Carley (21). Courtney attends Auburn University and Carley attends Oglethorpe University. Our family attends St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Scottsboro.

Education
I graduated from Auburn University in 1993 with a degree in Accounting. I knew I wanted to become a teacher so I stayed at Auburn an additional year to earn a Master’s in Secondary Mathematics Education. I attended Jacksonville State University in 2003 to add administration to my certification, and finally in 2016, I attended the University of West Alabama for an Educational Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership.

Work Experience
I began my career in education at Arab High School in Arab, Alabama. I taught Algebra 1A, Algebra 1B, Algebra I, and Applied mathematics from 1994 -1998 and coached basketball, volleyball, tennis, and golf. I transitioned to Scottsboro High School in Scottsboro, Alabama in the fall of 1998 and remained in that system until my retirement in July 2018. During my tenure in Scottsboro, I taught Algebra 1A, Algebra 1B, Algebra II, Consumer Math, Math in Society, Algebraic Connections, and Algebra with Finance. I also coached golf, basketball, volleyball, and swim as well as spent six years in administration. I began teaching at Dade Middle School in the fall of 2018. Currently, I teach 8th grade math and Algebra I. I also coach golf for both DMS and DCHS. Go Wolverines!
