Jessica Wilson
Jessica Wilson has been the director of the Dade Coutny Middle and High School Theatre Arts program for 12 years. A graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Theatre and Speech and Education Departments, Ms. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Theatre as well as a Masters in Education. Ms. Wilson has been performing, directing, and crewing in production for nearly 30 years. This love of Theatre has led her to the stage at Dade County to direct such productions as the modern musical The Addams Family and reaching further back to the Ancient Greek tragedy Sophocles’ Antigone. The Dade County High School Theatre accolades include placing top 3 at the GHSA One Act Play Competitions, placing top 3 in various dramatic endeavors at the GHSA Literary Competition, as well as leading students in the creation of original works via the Kid Theatre Project and participating in the NPR Podcast Challenge.
In her spare time, she can be found on small stages around Chattanooga, TN performing as a founding member of the Ambush Improv troupe. Favorite scripted roles performed include Velma Van Tussel from the musical Hairspray as well as Amanda Wingfield from the classic Tennessee Williams work The Glass Menagerie.
Story connects us as human beings, and this creation of it leads us to strive towards something greater than ourselves.
