Shenea was born in Jackson County, AL. She currently lives in Bryant, AL with her husband, Ricky, and their two children, Kenidy and Trip. They are members at Ebenezer Baptist Church and enjoy family hunting trips and cattle farming in their spare time.

Prior to becoming an educator, Shenea worked in business and industry for 15+ years, she earned her associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Design from Gadsden State Community College, bachelor’s degree in Career & Technology Education from Athens State University, and master’s degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Alabama. She has taught Career & Technology her entire education career in Jackson County, AL, Huntsville, AL and currently, Dade County, GA. During her tenure in Alabama she was also a SkillsUSA Advisor, competing nationally and winning multiple 1st place metals in the state.

She was honored by Dade County Schools in receiving the GSBA Leading Edge Award for innovation in Teaching and Learning in 2019. This award recognized Dade County's partnership with NASA that was initiated by Mrs. Hill and her partnership with the NASA Hunch program. Shenea has developed the first NASA Hunch partnership at the middle school level in the United States that provides additive manufacturing procedures using an industry level 3D printer, Stratasys Fortus 450mc. Alongside, Dade County High Schools newly acquired, high-end 3D carbon fiber-infused printer, Stratasys Fortus 380mc.

Dade County is the only school system in the NASA HUNCH Program to have these two valuable printing capabilities. “With new partnership horizons and advanced manufacturing technologies, Dade County students will have opportunities that exceed many high school-level curriculums and capabilities that are in our program,” said Bob Zeek, HUNCH co-founder and project resource manager at Marshall Space Station. Shenea’s innovative vision has developed the first program of its kind here in Dade County Schools.
