Troubleshooting Steps

Step 1: Restart Devices

• Make sure you are signed in to your account on the board.

• Restart the board: press and hold the power button until the shutdown menu appears, then select OK.

• Shut down and restart your computer, then try again.

Step 2: Check for Screen Share Updates

• Open the Screen Share app.

• Select About.

• If an update is available, install it before continuing.

Step 3: Verify Screen Share Settings

• Open the Screen Share app.

• Go to Settings.

• Confirm that Support Miracast device is turned On.

• Ensure the device name is set to your last name.

Cause: This means that you are logged in as the owner instead of yourself. 

Solution:  Do not add your Google account to the owner account.  Log in as yourself.

Solution: If the board becomes unresponsive, press and hold the power button until the shutdown screen appears. Wait until the lights on the power button stop flashing completely, then power the board back on.

Solution:

1. Check that the power cable is securely plugged in at both the wall outlet and the board.

2. Locate the toggle switch next to the power cord connection on the board. Make sure it is switched to the On position.

Solution: If you captured a screenshot using Capture or Mark, open the Finder app to locate your saved image.

Solution: Some settings can only be changed from the Owner account. To switch:

1. Swipe down from the top of the board.

2. Select the Owner account at the bottom of the screen.

3. Make the necessary changes in the Owner account. These settings will then carry over into your account.

Solution:

1. Restart the board – Press and hold the power button until the shutdown box appears. Wait for the lights on the power button to stop flashing before turning it back on.

2. Close background apps – On the floating menu bar, select Processes. Swipe up on each app or screen to close it.

3. Check for updates – Go to Settings → Advanced → OS Update and install any available updates.

Solution: This usually happens if one of the colored buttons on the remote was pressed. To unlock the screen:

1. Press the same colored button that was originally pressed.

2. Make sure you are pointing the remote directly at the board.

3. Step back slightly if you are standing too close, as the remote may not register.

Solution: This may be caused by the energy-saving settings. To check:

1. Open the floating menu.

2. Select Menu.

3. Go to Display.

4. Ensure Energy Saving is turned off.

Make sure that you have checked the box that says "Allow mouse, keyboard, touch, and pen input from this device" when you begin casting.

How to Clean the Board

• Never spray liquid directly onto the board!

• Use a microfiber cloth to gently wipe away dust and smudges.

• For stubborn smudges, lightly spray water onto the microfiber cloth (not the board) and then wipe.

How to Change How You Navigate Back to the Home Screen or Apps

You can customize the navigation gestures on your account. The Owner account is usually set to Traditional Gestures, but you can choose a different option for yourself. There are three types of navigation:

1. Gesture Navigation

• Home: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

• Switch Apps: Swipe up from the bottom, hold, then release.

• Back: Swipe from either the left or right edge.

2. 3-Button Navigation

• Use the buttons at the bottom of the screen for Back, Home, and Switch Apps.

3. Traditional Navigation

• Use the buttons on the left or right floating toolbar for Back, Home, and Switch Apps.

To Change Navigation Settings:

1. Go to Settings.

2. Scroll down and select System.

3. Tap System Navigation.

4. Choose the navigation style you prefer.

How to Control the Volume

1. Using the Remote

• The remote controls the volume.

• Make sure you are pointing the remote at the board and not standing too close.

2. Using Board Settings

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.

2. Tap the Settings icon.

3. Scroll to Sound.

4. Adjust Media Volume, Alarm Volume, or Notification Volume as needed.

3. Using the Floating Menu

1. Pull up the floating menu.

2. Tap Menu.

3. Use the slider to adjust the volume.

4. Adjusting Bass and Treble

1. Pull up the floating menu.

2. Tap Menu.

3. Select Audio.

4. Here, you can adjust the Volume, Bass, and Treble.

How to Turn Off Notifications

There are two main ways to manage notifications:

1. Adjust Notification Volume

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.

2. Tap the Settings icon.

3. Scroll to Sound.

4. Adjust the Notification Volume slider to your preference.

2. Enable Do Not Disturb

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.

2. Tap the Settings icon.

3. Scroll to Sound.

4. Select Do Not Disturb.

5. Tap Turn On Now.

6. Choose what can still interrupt you, such as alarms.

How to Remove Your Account from the Owner Account

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen.

2. Tap the Settings icon.

3. Select Passwords and Accounts.

4. Tap on your email account.

5. Choose Remove Account.

Important: When you are logged in as yourself, your account is protected by a PIN. If you stay signed in as the Owner, your account becomes accessible to anyone, which is a security risk.
